Hi Raghu,

What is the model number of Asus laptop?

We need to know the model number to locate the exact driver that is applicable to your model. I would suggest you to enter the exact model name in the Asus support website and locate the driver to install.

In the meanwhile, you may refer to steps mentioned by 1 'Mike_Alpha10 replied on September 27, 2013' which discusses the same device drivers.

If the issue still persists, you may have to contact Asus support for more information.

Hello, I have a similar issue with that device... Although mine shows up sometimes as Intel® 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family Thermal Control... I noticed that it rarely shows up in device manager, when it does it says it uses no resources because it has a problem... But almost always I can only see it if enabling 'Show Hidden Devices' and with error Code (45)... I have an Asus K55A-MX1-H-Red... Win8.1 Pro RTM (x64)... I have the latest Chipset INF installed from Intel® As well as device drivers from Asus® even though they're for Win8... Asus hasn't published Win8.1 drivers except for BT, WLAN and GPU... Or is it normal for this device to not always be active??? Thx in advance!!!

Hi,

This error occurs if a device that was previously connected to the computer is no longer connected. To resolve this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.

I would also suggest you to install the drivers in Windows 8 compatibility mode and check the results.

a. Locate the executable file (.exe file) for the driver installation program.

b. Right-click the file, and then click Properties.

c. In the Package NameProperties dialog box, click the Compatibility tab.

d. Click to select the Run this program in compatibility mode for check box, click Windows 8 with which it is compatible with in the Run this program in compatibility mode for list, and then click OK.

e. Double-click the executable file to start the installation program.

Hope this information helps.
