Best Free Dmx Software

SweetLight is a powerful multi-platform controller offering users unparalleled capabilities to manage and control DMX lighting. The SweetLight DMX controller system includes powerful lighting control software (available as a free download) and a set of DMX interfaces to suit your requirements. I am a student at a university so we are looking for the best free program to run our lighting system using only generic dimmers and a usb to dmx.

Dmx Lighting Software For Mac

while Pangolin does DMX it is missing some key features that any DMX software should have. Makes sense because it is for controlling lasers. i wouldn't recommend it for programming a light show with various fixtures.
J.J. i'm not sure what version of FreeStyler you are using or the system that it is running on, but ever since i have started using it a few years ago it has been nothing but flawless for me.
have you tried running it virtually on your mac?
the reason that i love it is because it is free, works with any interface and has some extremely powerful features. recently i started getting into the midi mapping and submasters.
i've tried myDMX, lightjockey and showexpress.
myDMX is win/mac so that a plus. runs stable as far as i can tell. you can't create/edit fixtures on the mac. the interface is horrible (pretty tho). especially when you have a lot of lights. alot of space is wasted with the dmx faders.
the scene builder is ok, but the scene system is extremely limited. basically you can only create a scene with x number of steps. and you can only run one scene at a time!
no notion of cue buttons (recall multiple scenes), no notion of override (override currently playing scene) and no notion of submasters/subcues (mix and match different parts of different scenes on the fly).
and the fact that no 3D until (let's just say 2014) is wack.
